Ingredients

For the rub paste

1kg pork shoulder
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp marjoram
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp tomato purée
4 tbsp oil and water

For cooking

1 large onion
100ml ketchup
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
A little oil for searing

To serve

Preparation process & instructions

#01 Marination

Mix the spices, tomato purée, oil and water, and rub the paste into the pork shoulder (approx. 1 kg).

#02 Searing

Pour a little oil onto the Nutricook searing/steaming tray and sear the meat on the SEAR/SAUTÉ function for 4 minutes per side.

Function used: SEAR/SAUTÉ
Special instruction: 4min

#03 Add the sauce

Once the meat has formed a crust, add the onion, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce.

#04 Add water

Mix the remaining paste with a little water and pour it over the meat as well.

#05 Slow cook

Cook on SLOW COOK - HIGH for 6 hours, until the meat is butter-soft, tender and juicy.

Special instruction: 6 hours

#06 Enjoy it

Shred the meat and serve in homemade burger buns.

Process
